Lyle Shackleford, Battalion Chaplain, HHD 57th Transportation Battalion: As a transportation battalion, my unit will be delivering the voting machines and the ballots to villages and cities throughout Iraq during the upcoming elections. (January 30/31) Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents because they do not want the equipment to arrive at the polling stations nor do they want the local Iraqi citizens to have the chance to vote; timely delivery must occur so that the elections occur. Encourage your friends and family members and those within our churches to pray specifically for the electoral process. There is unlimited potential for God's presence in this process but if we do not pray then our enemy will prevail (See Ephesians 6:10-17). A prayer vigil prior to the end of the month may be an innovative opportunity for those within your sphere of influence to pray. This is a political battle that needs spiritual intervention. A powerful story about God's intervention in the lives of David's mighty men is recorded in 2 Samuel 23:8-33. David and his warriors were victorious because of God's intervention. We want to overcome those who would stand in the way of freedom. David's mighty men triumphed over incredible odds and stood their ground and were victorious over the enemies of Israel. (Iraqi insurgents' vs God's praying people). They don't stand a chance. I will pray with my soldiers before they leave on their convoys and move outside our installation gates here at Tallil. My soldiers are at the nerve center of the logistic operation to deliver the voting machines and election ballots. They will be driving to and entering the arena of the enemy. This is not a game for them, it is a historical mission that is extremely dangerous. No voting machines or ballots--No elections. Your prayer support and God's intervention are needed to give democracy a chance in this war torn country.

Natalie was checked earlier this year and was told she was not in need, however on vacation with her family in June, 2005, she began to experience heart failure and was air-ambulanced home to Highlands Ranch, Co. Kevin Hunnicutt [ 05-Aug-2005 ] -- Lewis Benton's daughter Wendy (age 38) has been diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 4 this spring 2005. She has been undergoing radiation and cheomtherapy all summer and has been doing ok. Even if the current cervical tumor is dissolved she has a 75% chance for a reoccurence of the cancer somewhere else due to the involvement in her lymph nodes. Lewis Benton is my mother-in-law's cousin. Thanks!
Galen Cundiff [ 08-Aug-2005 ] -- Greg Shoemaker was an account executive for Chicago Title. He was recently Diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrigs Disease) which is a hideous, terminal disease that destroys the motor neurons in the central nervous system. ALS is not contagious. The cause, cure, or means of control of ALS are presently unknown. He and his family are going through a lot and he needs our prayers as a friend & colleague. A trust account has been established at California Savings in Montclair for his family to help them get the in home care they are going to need as he loses his motor functions. He worked for World Vision where his heart was in serving and loving people of all backgrounds and cultures. In a fitting tribute to Johnathan's memory, World Vision will build the Johnathan Sim Memorial School in the community of Twachiyanda, Zambia. He was diagnosed on August 1st with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and is now on the donor list for a bone marrow transplant.Please keep him in your prayers.

They are going trough agressive Cancer treatment for his ongoing battle with this disease. We as a congregation pray for God's Will in all of this but please lift them up in prayer. Bonnie Pruett [ 24-Aug-2005 ] -- Carla (Carlene) is a former client of mine who moved this past year to Arkansas with her family. She then took a Real Estate Course, passed the test and signed on with Keller Williams in Fayetteville, I believe. She has not had much luck in the business and is thinking of giving it up. Her career is not her biggest problem, however. She called this morning to say that she has been diagnosed with a meningeal cyst in between her eyes. From what I can gather, this is a cyst in the meningeal, which is the membrane covering the brain. Her doctor recommends surgery in the next 3 - 4 weeks. They are doing further tests to see if there are spurs of the cysts which have grown in towards her brain. This is evidently a potentially life-threatening situation and treatment should not be delayed. I did not tell her that I was submitting her name to you and I am sure that she probably wouldn't want to see her name in print in the CTV newsletter, but I would that she be remembered in your prayers, as she will be in mine. Ashley Prewits daughter, Madison, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic (ALL) Leukemia. She was diagnosed on November 8th. This obviously puts Ashley in a very strained position, emotionally, financially, and professionally as a single mother. Madison is currently in the Cooks Children Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. She started Chemotherapy November 9th and is already feeling the effects of it. She just turned 5 and attends school at the Fielder Road Baptist Church here in Arlington and is best friends with Erin Vanarsdels (agent in our office) daughter, Zoe. Having your daughter or son be diagnosed with something like this is an obvious fear of all parents, right now; Ashley is in need of support. But the mystery makes everything worse. Alex and Sheila Willis are hoping someone can help. Their daughter, Ashley Willis, is a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Texas at Arlington. On the day before Thanksgiving, she headed to the family's home near Houston. Ashley Willis Along the way, things turned ugly. Ashley's boyfriend, Kevin Pierson, also a UTA student, must have gotten one of her first calls. "She didn't seem as terrified as when she talked to her parents," Kevin said. "She just said, 'Some guy is messing with me.' " Ashley is a strikingly beautiful young woman, so it wasn't uncommon for young men in other vehicles to behave stupidly. Kevin assumed this was another such case. But when Ashley called her mother, she was more agitated. "It was more an annoyed 'how-can-they-be-so-rude?' situation at first," Mrs. Willis said. Ashley told her traffic was heavy on Interstate 45 near Buffalo. She said that she had signaled to change lanes and that a vehicle sped up to block her. She changed lanes anyway. And thus began one of those ridiculous scenes of high-speed revenge. Also Online Yolanda Walker reports When Ashley called her mother a few minutes later, she was panicked. Now near Centerville, she said the other driver was terrorizing her. Sometimes he drove almost on her back bumper, she said. Sometimes he pulled in front and hit the brakes. When she tried to change lanes, he swerved to block her. And sometimes he drove alongside her and pretended to fire a pistol at her, she said. Mrs. Willis told her daughter to exit the freeway and call 911. When she called her daughter again moments later, the phone was dead. Mrs. Willis feared the worst and she was right. Ashley exited the freeway at Leona. And here's where the mystery begins. She negotiated the sharp curve at the exit, crossed under the highway and began driving north on the straight service road. Skid marks and tracks indicated that she briefly ran off the road. Then, a quarter-mile farther, Ashley's pickup left the road completely on the right, swerved back across the service road and slammed broadside into a tree. Her family believes this was no accident. They think she must have been forced off the road. Ashley was taken by air ambulance to Tyler, where she spent the first week in a coma and on a respirator. She began to come out of the coma but then lapsed into a second one when infection set in. Finally, late last week, she regained consciousness again and is growing stronger, her mother said. Her shattered jaw is wired shut. A brain injury has left her weak on one side. The family is eager to get back to Houston and get Ashley in physical rehabilitation. And they're eager to find out what happened to their daughter. Ashley can't speak through that wired jaw. But she clearly remembers nothing of the crash or what caused it. The parents are frustrated that law enforcement officials are not pursuing the case more aggressively. But Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Tela Mange said troopers have exhausted the few leads they had. "We understand the family's frustration," she said. "We're frustrated, too." Family and friends hope you can provide new leads. "There were so many people on the road. Someone had to see something," Kevin said. This was Nov. 23, the day before Thanksgiving, between 3 and 4 p.m. Ashley was driving her bright red Ford pickup. It had the letters of her sorority, ZTA, on the back window. The large tumor has shrunk to less than 1/4 it's original size and the small tumors just show as a shadow on the MRI. The doctors are ecstatic, since this type of recovery is rare, and this was originally considered a terminal disease. This amazing healing is God's great answer to everyone's prayers. Her body is filling with fluid and she was told by an oncologist nurse to prepare her funeral arrangments, she doesn't want to go yet. The fluid is to be drained next week from her lungs and lower extremities. She is in the hospital now, she woke up this morning and could see stars and couldn't focus her eyes. Kooken Craig [ 08-Feb-2006 ] -- Billie and Bre Waters are a wonderful Christian couple that recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy Cade Waters. Cade was diagonosed with a rare disorder known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Cade's chances of living a long and healthy life past the age of 20 are very remote. Cade will have to endure many surgeries and a heart transplant in the years to come. Billy works as a self-employeed general contractor (He is a gifted contactor) and Bre is a stay at home Mom with young two boys to care for (Cody & Clay). Their family has a strong faith however the expenses of this long term care will be incredible. I know that Keller Williams has a heart of compassion and this family needs us and we need them. I believe you would have to create a log in and password to get into this website but there are no strings attached. Dear Friends, Baby Cade was born on Monday afternoon at 12:21pm. January 9, 2006. The delivery went well. They immediately took him over the the NICU at Texas Children's Hospital. There he is under 24 hr observation and medication to allow his heart to get blood to his body. He has undergone several test which confirm his original diagnosis (hypoplastic left heart syndrome). The only treatment for his heart condition is either transplant or Norwood Procedure. The doctors will do the first step of the Norwood procedure Thursday morning. This is by far the most difficult surgery of the three. There are many hurdles he will face in the next week. Please continue to pray for his fast recovery and that there are no complications in or from surgery. Please pray for the team of doctors and surgeons who will be doing the operation. Needless to say, this is a very trying time for the entire family. We know this is out of our hands and look to God for comfort and hope. A picture has been attached to put a face to your prayers. Fearon Nancy [ 09-Feb-2006 ] -- I represented Mrs. Ivy Rhodes in the purchase of her home last August. She just moved back to South Florida to be closer to her son. About three weeks ago, she fell in her driveway and hit her head on the bumper of a parked car. She suffered from bleeding in her skull which required surgery. After two weeks in intensive care, she was moved to a step down room and appeared to be making progress. Just two days ago, her doctor told the family that test showed that she had little to no brain activity. Her family was devastated, and after much prayer and consideration, decided to remove life support. She passed away today. She was a very happy, vibrant person who will be missed by all who knew her. She adored her three little Chihuahuas. They are certain to be lost without her. Please pray for her and her family at this time. Thank you.

My son has since graduated, but Edrick has remained close friends with our family. His mother, Ivy, just passed away today as a result of a head injury caused by a fall. He is the youngest child, but has the responsibility for handling the details of the funeral and his mother's affairs. Despite the challenges that she has had in her life, she is always there for others in their own times of need. Amanda is a huge asset to Keller Williams in more ways than I can express in this short request. Amanda is our team leader for Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society and donates her time and effort in many other ways to help others. I would like to be able to do the same for our Amanda. Amanda's life has not always been easy. Shortly after getting married, her husband, Matt, was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery and chemotherapy. Although he is now in remission, Matt still has doctors' visits and costly diagnostic testing on a regulsr basis. Amanda gave birth soon after to Riley Michelle, a beautiful child who was born with a number of challenges. She is epilectic, has had physical difficulties, doesn't speak at the age of four, and has been in and out of numerous medical facilities without diagnosis for her conditions. This has been a major financial strain for her family. Just a year ago, Amanda gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Kash Matthew. Prior to giving birth, Amanda was wrongly diagnosed as having pre-eclampsia. She swelled up to over 200 pounds (about 80 pounds over her normal weight) and suffered heart failure. She had a long stay in the hospital and had numerous other returns. Amanda has had a blood clot in her heart and has been on many different medications. Fortunately the blood clot is now gone, and she is returning to good health, but this chain of events has left the Anderson family in major financial difficulties. This beautiful 25 year old person is a very proud woman. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Yorkshire, Jr. Theodore [ 07-Mar-2006 ] -- PRAYER REQUEST ONLY!!! Judith fell down a flight of stairs in a Kansas parking garage. She landed on the back of her skull and was knocked unconscious. Some brain stem fluid seaped from the base of her skull resulting in further complications. She had a stroke, paralyzation to half of her body, kidney failure and numerous other problems. Her condition is so bad that she is in a coma and doctors have her on a ventilation system (70% electronic, 30% on her own). She's married with 3 children (13, 5, & 2) and resides in Kansas.

Penny Vathis is an agent in our office Penny and her husband Timmy have been married less than six months. Upon returning from their honeymoon Timmy was diagnosed with an illness that affected his kidney. He was quickly declining and the doctors recommended a kidney transplant. With the grace of God his mother is a match and was set to donate one of her kidneys this week. Unfortunately the doctors diagnosed Timmy with Systemic Lupus and were unable to perform the transplant. Now Timmy is requiring dialysis treatment. Through all of this Penny has not come to our office for any help or assistance but in talking with her yesterday I asked if I could help and she said, "request for prayers". This morning I received better news that Timmy may be improving to schedule the transplant for the short coming weeks. Meanwhile Penny will keep me informed on how his dyalisis progresses and how we can further assist her in the weeks to come.

Otto Nichole and Amy Gurr [ 28-Apr-2006 ] -- At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 19th, Keith McVey, husband to Stacy, and daddy to Mikayla (9 years old) and Jaque (7 years old) was in a serious motorcycle accident. He sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Riverside Hospital. Sadly on Monday, April 24th at 4:43 p.m., Keith lost his battle and passed on to a better place to be with his Lord. Despite the family's wishes for Keith to be an organ donor, the family needed to make the decision to remove life support. At approximately 4:00 p.m., the breathing tube was removed and with family by his side, Keith quietly passed away. The community in Columbus, Ohio has joined together to support Stacy and her family. Long term support is vital. Keller Williams Classic Properties is in the midst of organizing a plan to pull together and support the family for the next three months. We ask our KW Family to keep The McVey Family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Pettis Becky [ 02-Jun-2006 ] -- In January, David, my hubby, fell 30' backwards from a tree he was cutting when the bark split and ripped his harness; he suffered breaks & fractures with multiple internal injuries & bleeding; there was much infection to follow as sepsis (a serious form of peritonitis)"set in", he was in a coma for 3-4 weeks, had @ 6 surgeries, in ICU for 6 weeks, we almost lost him 3 times - then moved to a regular room, then sent to a physical rehabilitation center for therapy; after 3 months he was finally able to come home; my dining room has been converted to a hospital room; he is home, bed and wheelchair bound; he will have to have at least one more surgery in the fall and still is unable to walk; there is now some neurological damage to his legs; this has been a life altering situation for both of us, he was a work-aholic and was never an inside house person; my business has come to almost a complete halt as he requires 24/7 assistance and care. KW Cares of my local Atlanta Partners office has been there for us! It has been incredible the support we have received - we have received donations from agents that I have never even met and my broker, team & assistant team leader, MCA and staff have been overwhelmingly supportive in their prayers and well wishes. I urge every KW Agent to get involved in KW Cares - who knows, someday you may be that person in need. Thanks for your continued prayers and support as we forge through what is said to be about 9 more months of recovery. KW is awesome - there is no doubt I made the right decision to join KW 2 years ago.

Zizich Puyo [ 24-Aug-2006 ] -- John is a fellow member of the Keller Williams Team Realty office in Palatine, Illinois. He has always helped newer agents, always offered his time to help coach and train anyone requesting assistance and has even done ALC training. In 2005 John suffered a few setbacks in his personal life. He was diagnosed with lung cancer, rushed in for emergency surgery where they removed half of his lung and who knows what else, and if that wasnt enough, right before or after his diagnosis, his wife lost her position with her employer therefore forcing the family to endure high medical bills on their own. John is such a helping and caring person that even after his health declined, as he battled chemo and radiation, he continued to come to the office and provide training and assistance to people more in need than he was. John is a very proud man and asking for help doesnt come easy to him. As a member of the Keller Williams family for the past five plus years, I though if I asked for help on Johns behalf, if he was to receive the help from the Keller Williams family, it would be easier on John and his family to accept the help, than if they asked for the help themselves. I know being ill with high medical bills is not easy and I know that any financial help from the KW family would be most appreciative and would go a long way to help the Tampir family and help to maintain the KW family and philosophy.
